Job Description

Resource Geologist, Senior - Mining

Role Type: Remote with international travel

Legal authorization to travel internationally is required.

Blue Moon Metals is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Resource Geologist to lead and support Resource Estimation. You will manage geological data, interpret results, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance projects safely, efficiently, and responsibly. Reporting to the Resource Manager you will be part of the Exploration team.

This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of resource geology processes and contribute directly to the transition of projects from a development stage to an active mining operation over the next two years.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead updates and validation of geological and mineral resource models using 3D modelling and geostatistical techniques.
  • Strong geostatistical skills and proficiency with computerized resource estimation tools.
  • Provide geological input into mine planning, feasibility studies, geo-metallurgical programs and project development activities.
  • Evaluate geological variability and implement strategies to improve model confidence and estimation accuracy.
  • Travel to Blue Moon Metals project sites currently in the US and Norway.
  • Lead updates and validation of geological and mineral resource models using 3D modelling and geostatistical techniques.

 Qualifications

  • A degree in Geology.
  • 5-10+ years of applied resource estimation experience in an exploration, operational or corporate capacity.
  • Sound geological understanding of various mineralization styles with 3D geological modelling skills.
  • Experience with modern implicit modelling tools such as Leapfrog and Supervisor.
  • Experience with both underground and open pit mining.
  • Experience with base and precious metals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Some prior consulting experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with international exploration results and mineral resource reporting standards, such as the NI43-101, JORC, PERC Code.
  • Legally authorized to travel internationally.
