My client is a well-established supplier of professional tools, equipment and industrial solutions, supporting engineering and manufacturing businesses across the UK. They are looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to develop existing customer relationships and drive new business across the North East and Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on the road, meeting customers and identifying opportunities to grow sales.
Location: Ideally based in Leeds (LS), Wakefield (WF) or Sheffield (S). Candidates based in Bradford (BD) or Huddersfield (HD) will also be considered.
Other job titles could include Business Development Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Field Sales Executive, Technical Sales Engineer, Account Manager or External Sales Representative.
The Role - Area Sales Manager

• Managing and developing existing customer accounts across the assigned territory.
• Identifying and winning new business within engineering, manufacturing and industrial sectors.
• Visiting customers to understand their requirements and recommend suitable tooling and industrial solutions.
• Building relationships with engineers, production managers, purchasing teams and key decision-makers.
• Delivering product demonstrations and presentations to customers.
• Managing the full sales process, including quotations, negotiations and securing orders.
• Developing territory sales plans to achieve agreed sales targets and KPIs.
• Maintaining accurate customer records, sales opportunities and forecasts using CRM systems.
• Working closely with internal technical sales and customer support teams.

Minimum Skills / Experience Required

• Previous experience in B2B field sales, within engineering, manufacturing, industrial supplies or tooling.
• Proven experience developing new business and managing existing customer accounts.
• Experience of selling a solution approach to clients within the industry.
• Comfortable managing your own diary and travelling throughout the territory.
• Full UK driving licence.

The Package - Area Sales Manager

• £43,000 basic salary per annum.
• OTE £54,000 in year one (Up to £9,000 bonus based on individual territory sales performance. Additional £2,000 bonus based on agreed KPIs)
