• Location: Waterloo, IA / Onsite
• Shift: 1st shift - 7 am to 3:30 pm

Position Summary
We are seeking a Tactical Supplier Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations by working closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve supplier-related quality concerns, drive corrective actions, and improve overall product quality. This role is responsible for managing containment activities, analyzing supplier quality data, coordinating issue resolution, and ensuring minimal impact to production operations.
Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with suppliers to contain and resolve quality issues, supporting rapid response and containment efforts.
• Coordinate containment of activities related to both quality and design concerns to ensure effective resolution.
• Initiate and manage corrective and preventive actions for recurring supplier quality issues impacting production performance, first-pass yield, downtime, or rework.
• Manage supplier quality data, dispositions, and related activities using enterprise systems such as SAP.
• Support manufacturing operations through quality initiatives, non-conformance communication, and participation in cross-functional meetings.
• Create, process, and manage purchase orders associated with supplier containment and quality-related services.
• Provide guidance and support regarding quality engineering processes and procedures.
• Develop, document, and continuously improve supplier quality processes and standards.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to drive ongoing process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in one or more engineering disciplines, including manufacturing, quality, industrial, reliability, or design engineering.
• Experience working with quality systems, databases, and engineering software such as SAP, Windchill, Excel, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, product models, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
• Technical background obtained through education, internship, co-op, or professional experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to support manufacturing operations and business needs as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with product lifecycle management, engineering data management, and supplier quality systems.
• Hands-on experience using inspection and measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and profilometers.
• Familiarity with quality analysis tools and methodologies, including Pareto analysis, histograms, control plans, and statistical data evaluation.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ability to lead initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive results without direct authority.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
