Position Overview

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role provides engineering support to all divisions and departments throughout the client's Ohio region.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the design overview, management, and execution of assigned capital projects across Ohio, including but not limited to repairs and replacements of tanks, booster stations, lift stations, water treatment plants (WTPs), wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), regulating vaults, and related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Support planning efforts for assigned divisions and systems.
• Coordinate monthly capital meetings with operations personnel.
• Track capital expenditures and provide project status reporting to senior management.
• Lead and coordinate the development of the five-year capital plan for assigned divisions and systems.
• Utilize PowerPlan and SAP to manage assigned projects.
• Prepare and submit all required permits and regulatory approvals.
• Secure necessary easements to support project execution.
• Manage projects throughout the entire lifecycle, including project selection, planning, permitting, construction, and closeout activities.
• Review and approve contractor pay applications and process project-related invoices.
• Complete all required documentation needed for accounting to close projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in the water and wastewater industry is preferred. Candidates with utility, specialty chemical, or environmental backgrounds may also be considered.
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of Ten States Standards, AWWA Standards, and WEC Standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred. This role will primarily involve reviewing drawings rather than creating designs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to read, interpret, and review civil engineering drawings.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to review and discuss engineering plan sets.
