Job Description

Director, Product Management & Enablement, Enterprise Data

A top tier global financial institution is building out its Enterprise Data Office as a true center of the bank, and is hiring a Director to lead data product strategy and enablement from the ground up. This is a rare greenfield seat inside an established, highly regulated organization: the mandate is to stand up a data product practice and framework where mature product thinking doesn't yet exist, not to inherit and maintain something already built.

You will own the vision and roadmap for the bank's data product framework, including data contracts, consumer alignment, and reuse patterns, and lead a team of coaches who mature product practice across the organization in real time, in live delivery, not in a classroom. You will work daily across engineering, domain stewards, technology, and senior data leadership, with direct exposure across every division of the bank and hands-on involvement in emerging technology initiatives. This is a high-growth, high-visibility seat with real access to senior leadership, in an organization known for running with genuine startup hustle inside a global banking platform.

What you will do:
  • Define and drive the roadmap for a data product framework built for consumption and reporting, not infrastructure, standing up the practice rather than optimizing an existing one
  • Lead and coach a team of data product managers and coaches in live delivery, maturing best practices and product mindset in real time
  • Partner with domain stewards, engineering, technology, and compliance to translate business and regulatory needs into a scalable data product strategy
  • Drive alignment and unblock delivery decisions across a large, matrixed organization, without direct authority over most of the people you'll need to move
  • Advocate for data governance and product best practices, and stay current on data privacy regulation such as GDPR and CCPA

What you bring:
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling a data product framework from the ground up, ideally inside an organization without mature product thinking already in place
  • Hands-on depth in metadata management, data lineage, cataloging, and governance tooling (Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Purview, or similar), ideally within financial services or another heavily regulated industry
  • Experience leading or coaching a team of product managers or owners, not just operating as an individual contributor PM
  • A track record of driving internal alignment and influence without direct authority, in large, matrixed, regulated environments
  • A genuine 0-to-1 builder mindset. Supply-side, private equity, or early-stage-adjacent experience is a strong signal here
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred

Why this role: This is a chance to build something real inside one of the most established names in global banking: a new center of gravity for how the organization governs, productizes, and unlocks its data, with visibility across every division and a direct line to senior leadership. If you're energized by creating structure and roadmap where little precedent exists, rather than maintaining a playbook someone else wrote, this is that seat.

Location & Compensation: New York City, hybrid schedule. Base salary $160K-$200K plus bonus.
