Payroll Specialist | Essen, Germany | Hybrid

We are seeking a diligent Payroll Specialist to join a leading retail organization known for its innovative approach to discount shopping and commitment to employee development. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and supporting HR functions within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The Role

• Execute monthly payroll processing accurately and in compliance with all legal, tariff, and company regulations.
• Prepare employment contracts, references, and manage employee files and archives.
• Serve as a key advisor to employees and management on payroll, employment law, tax, and social insurance matters.
• Act as the primary contact for health insurance providers, social security institutions, and authorities, handling certifications and reporting.
• Reconcile and prepare payroll data for accounting, including salary postings and provisions.
• Monitor and implement changes in payroll due to legal amendments or new requirements.
• Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for optimization within payroll operations.

What You'll Need

• Completed commercial apprenticeship with several years of experience in payroll or HR administration.
• Solid understanding of current employment, wage tax, and social insurance law.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with HR management and payroll systems, ideally SAP HCM or P&I Loga.
• High commitment, strong service orientation, initiative, and an independent work style.
• Excellent teamwork, reliability, and resilience.
• Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in digital HR transformation.
