Job description

About the Role

Join a small engineering team developing advanced sensing systems for public safety. You will own hands-on mixed-signal board bring-up, debugging, and integration, working across hardware, FPGA, firmware, AI, and mechanical engineering.

What You'll Do

  • Lead board-level bring-up, power sequencing validation, and subsystem integration across multiple board designs.

  • Investigate signal integrity, power, and RF performance issues, identify root causes, and drive design iterations.

  • Coordinate schematic updates and layout reviews with an external design partner, from fabrication through characterization and validation.

  • Collaborate with FPGA, firmware, and systems engineers to validate subsystem and system-level integration.

  • Develop traceability and test procedures to support increased production volume.

What We're Looking For

  • Three to seven years of experience in mixed-signal hardware bring-up, debug, and board-level integration.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience owning board design end to end, including schematic capture and layout in Altium, controlled-impedance routing, and power protection circuits.

  • Hands-on experience with complex PCBAs, power sequencing, signal integrity, and mixed-signal design, including ADCs, DACs, DC/DC converters, and RF interfaces.

  • Ability to work independently, identify problems, and contribute across disciplines.

  • Background in telecom, radar, or complex sensing systems is beneficial, as is FPGA bring-up experience with tools such as PetaLinux or AMD Kria SOM.

  • Familiarity with Python, high-speed digital design, power distribution, and lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers is useful.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $160,000 to $180,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Location

On-site, five days per week in Santa Clara, California, United States.
