HR Manager Opportunity

Location: West Midlands (Hybrid Working)

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Our client is a successful and growing organisation seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the people function and support the continued development of a positive, high-performing workplace culture.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys a broad generalist role, partnering with leaders across the business while managing operational HR activities and driving people-focused initiatives.

The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, the HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the employee lifecycle, managing HR operations, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to managers, lead employee relations activities, support learning and development programmes, and contribute to wider organisational objectives through effective people management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the HR function and HR team.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and performance issues.
  • Review, develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Support managers with coaching, development and workforce planning.
  • Deliver employee engagement, wellbeing and retention initiatives.
  • Oversee onboarding, induction and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Manage learning and development programmes across the organisation.
  • Produce HR reporting and management information to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
  • Support payroll, benefits administration and reward initiatives.
  • Promote diversity, equity and inclusion across the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement within HR systems and processes.

Essential

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a broad HR generalist role.
  • Previous experience managing or supervising HR staff.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent employee relations experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering learning and development initiatives.
  • Payroll knowledge.
  • Experience within a commercial or service-led environment.
  • Coaching or mentoring experience.
