As the UK’s leading pet emergency service, our hospitals are unique to our business structure, as they are operational 24/7.

We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our out-of-hours team within our Glasgow hospital. In this role, you will deliver emergency care, within a supportive environment.

Working in a multidisciplinary referral hospital, you'll manage a varied and rewarding emergency caseload, while collaborating with experienced clinicians and benefiting from the support of one of the UK's largest ECC specialist teams. It's an environment designed to help you grow in confidence, develop your skills and become an enhanced clinician.

At Vets Now Glasgow, you will find a diverse medical and surgical emergency caseload, as well as dedicated ICU and advanced diagnostic facilities.

Now for work/life balance

In this role, we have a couple of rota options to choose from:

Option 1:

In this role, the shifts will typically include days/backshifts and nights – this includes a mixture of shifts during the week, weekends, and a fair share of bank holidays. Working an average of 36 hours per week. (An average of 30 hours per week could also possibly be considered, we will try to work around your and our hospital rota requirements).

Option 2:

In this role, the shifts will typically include days/backshifts and nights – this includes a mixture of shifts during the week, weekends, and a fair share of bank holidays. Working an average of 20 hours per week.

With both options, shift times will typically include: Backshifts 5pm - 1am and 5pm - 3am, Night shifts 7pm -7am and 7:30pm- 7:30am.

One team, one goal

Working in an emergency 24/7 setting, you’ll see a stimulating and varied caseload and you’ll make an immediate difference to the pets you treat on every shift.
