Design Engineer (Power Electronics Domain)

Job Title: Design Engineer 5 (100% Onsite)

Location:  Chillicothe, Illinois 61523

Daily Schedule: First Shift

Duration: 12 months to begin with however, this is long term role

Salary Range: 100k – 110 K

Program Ownership: 240/260 kW CCS charger, 800kW and 1.2 MW MCS charger, Battery managers (To do the activation cycle for the battery module, Pack and strings), MCS receptacle box   

High level Activities

Ownership and execution of the NPI and NTI programs

·       VOC collection (Involves discussing with different teams in CAT and customers)

·       Program requirement development and VOR collection

·       Competitive study and analysis

·       Team management and coordination (SW, HW, Validation, Filed support, Product support, commercial, purchasing, Product safety and compliance etc.)

·       Supplier down selection and coordination

·       Product design, development and validation

·       Product commissioning and technical support to field team

·       Tracking field follow program

·       NPI/CPI issue resolution

Product design, development and validation

·       Product Design in house or with supplier (Design team available for each component like inverter, converters, power supply etc..)

·       Risk assessment - TBRA, Bow tie etc..

·       DFMEA, PFMEA

·       Requirement detailing as per International standard

·       Validation planning

·       Validation coordination or execution

Experience:

·       8-10 years total

·       Out of which recent 3-4 years must be in Power Electronics Domain

Converter, inverter, Motor drivers

Electrical design and development

·       Electrification on EV side like chargers (1-2 years)

·       Exposure to industry EV standards (1-2 years)

·       People have certifications but Power electronics experience is a MUST

Education:

·       Mechanical or Electrical engineer
