Join the Strategic Space Systems team, a small group of cross domain engineers responsible for full lifecycle space programs ranging from chip scale work to complete space missions. These programs deliver resilient space communications and networking, remote sensing and related capability for the U.S. government and commercial end users. You will work directly with customers to build multi function systems from concept through implementation, covering requirements development, architecture design, integration and hardware implementation. What You Will Do

  • Build multi function systems from concept to implementation in support of critical defense programs
  • Develop requirements, design system architecture, and lead integration and implementation of hardware
  • Perform system modeling, simulation and analysis, including power and communication link budgets
  • Work across interdisciplinary teams spanning business development, systems, software, RF circuits and FPGA design
  • Partner with government customers to develop system level requirements and solutions
  • Collaborate with external partners to identify, pursue, capture and complete high priority programs Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of systems engineering with a Master's degree, or 12+ years with a Bachelor's degree
  • Payload and electronics design for space applications, including reliability and EMI/EMC requirements for space based systems
  • Strong analytic and mathematics skills, including system modeling, simulation and analysis with power and communication link budgets
  • Strong grasp of systems engineering analysis: requirements definition and flow down, interface definitions, system test design and execution, and risk identification, tracking and burn down
  • Proficiency with RF and systems design tools including MATLAB, ADS, HFSS and Genesys
  • Working with government customers to develop system level requirements and solutions
  • Strong system, software or test skills, including design and implementation
  • Strong technical leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Master's or PhD preferred.
  • U.S. Government position. U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance, OR the ability and willingness to obtain one when administratively feasible
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically

Preferred Qualifications

  • Model based systems engineering techniques, including MBSE tools such as Cameo
  • Satellite mission operations including launch, in orbit testing and anomaly resolution
  • Mission design and analysis tools such as STK
  • Taking a product from concept through prototyping, launch and operation
  • Demonstrated leadership of space systems engineering teams
  • Leading trade studies and architecting solutions to difficult technical problems
