The Opportunity:

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Systems Engineer to work with complex, connected technology used across smart mobility and smart city environments. This is a varied technical role sitting at the intersection of IT infrastructure, networking, software and physical technology. You'll work with connected and IoT devices, Servers, operating systems, networks and applications, helping to configure, integrate, test and troubleshoot complete technology solutions.

We're looking for a technical all-rounder - someone as comfortable at a keyboard configuring a network or operating system as they are working hands-on with hardware, cabling and connected devices.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Configure, integrate and support complex systems combining software, hardware, networking and connected devices.
• Build and configure representative test environments and technology test sites.
• Configure Windows and Linux-based systems, applications and associated infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot IP Networks, communications and connected devices.
• Integrate IoT and edge devices, sensors, cameras, controllers and other physical technologies into wider systems.
• Perform software, hardware and integrated systems testing.
• Diagnose complex technical issues across hardware, software and networks, carrying out root-cause analysis through to resolution.
• Manage system configurations, software and firmware versions and associated technical records.
• Produce technical specifications, test documentation, reports, procedures and handover documentation.
• Act as a technical escalation point and provide guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
• Occasionally overseas travel to support system setup, testing and other activities.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong Windows and/or Linux systems knowledge.
• TCP/IP Networking, Ethernet, LAN/WAN and network configuration.
• Diagnosing network, communications and connectivity problems.
• Systems integration and configuration.
• Hardware and software integration.
• Working with IoT, edge or other network-connected devices.
• Hardware, electronics, sensors, cameras, controllers or similar physical technologies.
• System testing, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Configuring and maintaining Servers and associated infrastructure.
• Building or configuring test environments and test systems.
• Technical documentation and configuration management.
