Application Programmer III

Position Summary

The organization is seeking an Application Programmer III to support critical development and delivery of complex software requirements. The role involves ensuring solutions meet functional, non-functional, and compliance standards while being maintainable and easily integrable. Candidates will demonstrate strong proficiency in industry-standard development and testing practices, with extensive experience in design and architectural patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the refinement of user stories and requirements.


• Lead and guide the team in estimating work needed to complete stories throughout the delivery process.


• Conduct proof of concept activities to mitigate risks or validate new ideas.


• Develop and unit test solutions to meet specified acceptance criteria and compliance standards.


• Use multiple architectural components to design and develop client requirements across data, application, and business domains.


• Assist the team in resolving technical challenges during story implementation.


• Design, develop, and modify architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while maintaining architectural integrity.


• Develop and maintain automated test suites (including integration, regression, and performance testing).


• Set up and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.


• Automate manual release activities.


• Mentor and coach other software engineers on CI/CD practices and tooling automation.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming with Python (or equivalent programming languages).


• Understanding of distributed, parallel, and high-performance computing concepts.


• Experience related to pricing, risk, and profit-and-loss domains within financial products such as fixed income, currencies, commodities, or equities.


• Knowledge of software development, testing, deployment, and support within agile methodologies.


• Ability to work effectively within a high-performance team on high-priority deliverables.


• Strong problem-solving skills that add tangible value to business operations.


• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders across technology and business units.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on platforms similar to Quartz.


• Proven leadership in risk calculation projects.


• Ability to coach junior developers.


• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across various technology teams within an organization.
