Introduction

The Quote Engineer 2 plays a crucial role in the team by completing detailed cost models for each quote, ensuring accuracy and profitability. They are responsible for communicating with various departments, building relationships with engineering resources, and providing financial evaluations for the business development team.

Responsibilities

• Complete detailed cost models for each quote
• Follow internal processes required for quotes
• Participate in quote strategy and attend kick-off calls
• Review customer documentation
• Manage relationships with engineering resources
• Ensure profitability of quotes
• Create cost models for budgetary or quick turn quotes
• Communicate with finance and operations teams
• Provide financial evaluations for the business development team
• Create final pricing and financial assumptions for quotes
• Document cost activities for future reference
• Identify cost model improvement opportunities

Requirements

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in Quote Engineering, Cost Engineering, Financial/Product Evaluation, or Commodities
• Experience in Manufacturing Industry
• Expertise in Cost Modeling and Pricing
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills (Written and Verbal)
• Experience in Quote Strategy and Kick-Off Calls
• Technical review of customer documentation

Preferred Skills

• 4+ years of Supervisor or Team Leadership experience
• Experience in manufacturing site cost analysis
• Finance and Operations coordination
• Knowledge of Budgetary/Quick-turn quotes
• Product and Commodity costing expertise
• Pricing assumptions and profitability analysis
• Validation of cost models for accuracy
• Support for Business Development or Sales teams

Nice to Have

• Experience in EMS/Electronics manufacturing
• Knowledge of VAM creation and cost model improvement
• Understanding of Manufacturing BOM/Labor/Material costing
