Job Description
Manager of Investigations
Duration: up to 6 Months contract with possible extension
Location: Dallas, TX 75234 (Location- Remote or Onsite: Hybrid. Remote office days with some travel to visit stores and meet with Law Enforcement. 25-30% overnight travel)
Pay Range: $37 - $52/hr. The pay rate may differ depending on your skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.

GENERAL FUNCTION
- The Manager of Investigations drives Asset Protection programs and supports Brands to safeguard the assets of merchandise, money, real property and the welfare of customers and associates.
- This role will serve as the primary driver and point of contact for law enforcement and stores/field teams for critical incidents.
- This position analyzes data, video footage, and other investigative information to identify patterns, repeat offenders, and ORC activity.
- Must be able to develop well-documented cases through in-person and remote interaction with stores, field teams, and law enforcement to support the identification and prosecution of suspects.
- The position requires strong analytical, investigative, communication, and case building skills.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with Asset Protection, Corporate departments, Distribution & Logistics, Field and Store level employees to identify, investigate and close cases impacting client.
- Responsible for case initiation and gathering intelligence through the use of investigative resources.
- Conducts follow-up investigation and law enforcement collaboration on all assigned incidents.
- Provides timely investigative response and support for assigned incidents including burglaries, robberies, and high-priority events.
- Follow critical incident response guidelines, including nights and weekends when necessary.
- Supports investigations across multiple time zones, requiring flexibility in work hours, adjusting work hours to support active investigations, emerging events, and time-sensitive developments.
- Provides monthly progress reports to the AP leadership team.
- Leverages state and local laws and coordinates with appropriate law enforcement / business partners for the effective prosecution of cases and restitution recovery
- Provides training in areas of expertise; assists store personnel with training and communication standards.
- Serves as the primary point of contact following critical incidents by engaging with impacted stores/employees and distributing a written summary of the incident, expectations, and next steps.
- Assists in the training & development of APS personnel related to critical incident response Provides support with audits or other required departmental tasks.
- Ability to travel, including overnight(s) on short notice.
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years’ experience in investigations, law enforcement, organized retail crime, or related field.
- Law enforcement or ORC investigations experience preferred
- Self-starter who is innovative, able to multi-task, and able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Ability to handle difficult or volatile situations effectively
- Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise independent judgment based on core principles and practices
- Excellent listening skills and ability to articulate findings succinctly
- Strong organization skills with high attention to detail, timeliness, and confidentiality
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals, including those at different levels within client, investigative firms and various business partners
- Strong report writing and evidence documentation.
- Surveillance/video analysis experience.
- Ability to successfully conduct external investigations through prosecution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- External investigation experience with closure (7+ years)
- Completion of PCI, LPC, CFE or CPP courses preferred
- Thorough knowledge of Physical Security Equipment
- Highly proficient in Microsoft excel and data-analysis tools.
