The Role

• Provide technical support and documentation for ship design phases, including feasibility, concept, preliminary, and contract design.
• Evaluate systems and equipment, develop and analyze requirements for hull form, stability, weights, and structures.
• Develop system documentation and ship specifications for surface assets and boats.
• Conduct and document performance and stability tests, including speed, power, maneuvering, and seakeeping trials.
• Perform structural analysis and design using relevant industry standards.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least six (6) years of progressive experience in Naval Architecture.
• At least one (1) year of experience with U.S. Federal or commercial ship or boat building acquisition programs.
• Experience with naval architecture software for hull design and knowledge of shipbuilding standards and regulations.
• Eligibility for a Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
