Job Description

PCT - Pacific Cast Technologies is seeking a Controls and Automation Engineer to design, program, and support automation systems in a precision aerospace casting environment. You will develop and optimize PLC/HMI controls for furnaces, robotics, and process equipment; troubleshoot electrical and control issues; and implement improvements to increase safety, quality, and throughput. Partner with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to integrate new equipment, ensure reliable operation, and maintain documentation. This role offers hands-on work with advanced manufacturing technologies, strong training, and growth in a quality focused, continuous improvement culture.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and maintain PLC/HMI and automation systems for casting and machining equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime
  • Integrate new automated equipment and robotics into existing manufacturing processes
  • Optimize control strategies to improve safety, quality, and production efficiency
  • Develop and maintain control system documentation, schematics, and backups
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams on process improvements
  • Support startup, commissioning, and validation of new or upgraded systems
  • Implement and follow safety, regulatory, and quality standards for industrial controls

Required Skills
