Job Description

Fibertek, Inc. seeks a Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and verification of advanced laser and electro-optic systems for defense, aerospace, and remote sensing applications. You will own requirements flow-down, system architecture, interface definition, and test planning for rugged, space-qualified and military-grade laser and lidar solutions. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you'll lead system-level trades, support integration and troubleshooting in the lab, and ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with customer and mission requirements in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Translate mission and customer needs into system-level requirements and specifications
  • Develop system architectures, interface definitions, and performance budgets for laser and electro-optic systems
  • Plan and execute system integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Perform system-level analyses, trade studies, and modeling to optimize performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with optical, mechanical, electrical, and software teams on design and troubleshooting
  • Support environmental, vibration, and thermal testing for rugged and space-qualified hardware
  • Document designs, test procedures, and results in accordance with customer and quality standards
  • Interface with customers and partners to review requirements, designs, and test outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools
  • Support proposals, estimates, and technical presentations for new programs
