Information System Security Officer with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Information System Security Officer to support a federal modernization program focused on securing mission-critical systems, applications, and cloud environments. This position is on-site at Huntsville, AL. The Information System Security Officer will provide security oversight, compliance monitoring, risk management, and accreditation support while ensuring systems remain compliant with federal cybersecurity requirements. This is an opportunity to directly support a high-impact modernization effort that strengthens security and operational readiness across critical federal programs. Responsibilities for the Information System Security Officer include:

• Implement and enforce federal security policies, controls, standards, and procedures across system lifecycles.
• Maintain security documentation including SSPs, POA&Ms, security checklists, audit artifacts, and control evidence.
• Support continuous monitoring activities through vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking, audit reviews, and security assessments.
• Provide security guidance to engineering, cloud, DevSecOps, QA, and operations teams regarding compliance, system hardening, and secure architectures.
• Identify security risks, support incident response activities, and generate reports on vulnerabilities, remediation efforts, and overall security posture.

Required Qualifications for the Information System Security Officer include:

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, ISSO support, information assurance, security engineering, or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of federal security frameworks, vulnerability management, system hardening, identity and access management, logging, and auditing.
• Excellent communication, documentation, analytical, and risk management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance required.

Compensation for the Information System Security Officer include:

• Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000 depending on experience
