Business Analyst - ACH / Wire transfers / Payments

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong experience in Payments, specifically SWIFT, ACH, and Wire Transfers. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, technology teams, and payment operations to analyze requirements and support payment transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for SWIFT, ACH, and Wire payment systems.
• Work with stakeholders to define business processes, functional requirements, and payment workflows.
• Analyze payment messages, transaction flows, and integration requirements.
• Create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with technology teams on payment processing, interfaces, APIs, and system integrations.
• Support SWIFT messaging and payment standards, including payment formats and transaction mapping.
• Analyze ACH payment flows, including NACHA-related requirements, processing, exceptions, and reconciliation.
• Support wire-transfer requirements, payment validations, settlement, and exception handling.
• Conduct impact analysis for payment-system enhancements and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate with QA teams to develop test scenarios and validate business requirements.
• Participate in UAT, defect analysis, and production issue resolution.
• Work in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, QA, and business teams.

Required Skills

• 12–15+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Banking/Financial Services.
• Strong hands-on experience with SWIFT, ACH, and Wire Transfers.
• Strong understanding of payment processing and transaction lifecycle.
• Experience with payment message formats, mappings, and integrations.
• Experience writing user stories, BRDs/FRDs, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Banking or financial-services experience is required.

Preferred

• Experience with ISO 20022 and payment modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of SWIFT MT/MX messages and ISO 20022 payment messages.
• Experience with cross-border payments, payment investigations, exceptions, and reconciliation.
• Experience working with large banking/payment platforms.
