Cyber Analyst - IA & Compliance Location: On-site Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI Certification Required: CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification)
Overview We are seeking an experienced Cyber Analyst - IA & Compliance to support cybersecurity operations, information assurance (IA), and compliance activities within a highly visible defense environment. This position is ideal for a cybersecurity professional with extensive experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST, and FISMA requirements, and who thrives in mission-critical operational environments. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of a cybersecurity team responsible for maintaining security compliance, supporting audits and inspections, managing risk, and ensuring systems maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) status. This role requires strong collaboration with system owners, technical teams, and leadership to strengthen cybersecurity posture and maintain regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
Provide oversight and accountability for day-to-day cybersecurity and information assurance operations.
Validate security architectures and ensure compliance with current cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.
Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of cybersecurity policies and regulatory compliance documentation.
Cross-reference and validate physical, personnel, facility, and information system security controls in accordance with applicable Army regulations, DoD directives, and cybersecurity requirements.
Identify, assess, and manage information security risks while reporting findings and recommendations to leadership.
Work with system owners to maintain and renew Authorities to Operate (ATOs) in compliance with RMF, NIST, and FISMA requirements.
Support cybersecurity planning and execution activities during Army and Joint operational exercises.
Represent the organization in cybersecurity briefings, inspections, meetings, and compliance reviews.
Ensure Secure Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) are reviewed and maintained through recurring assessments.
Utilize eMASS to document, track, and validate compliance with RMF requirements.
Review Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms), assess mitigation strategies, and identify potential vulnerabilities.
Support security inspection and assessment teams during audits and compliance reviews.
Assist in planning, execution, documentation, and remediation efforts resulting from cybersecurity inspections.
Evaluate personnel and processes during inspections, document findings, and provide training on corrective actions and preventive measures.
Conduct technical research on cybersecurity technologies and emerging threats and develop leadership-level white papers and recommendations. Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Current Security+ certification or equivalent DoD-approved certification.
Minimum 6 years of Information Assurance (IA) experience supporting cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
Demonstrated experience with:
Risk Management Framework (RMF)
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards
Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA)
Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs)
Computer Network Defense (CND)
Vulnerability assessments and security compliance reviews
Experience utilizing eMASS for RMF documentation and compliance management.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity operations, security controls, audit preparedness, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Experience supporting Army or Joint military environments.
Ability to analyze complex cybersecurity issues and communicate recommendations to technical and executive stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting operational military headquarters, G6 organizations, or Joint environments.
Familiarity with Pacific and multinational operational environments and command structures.
Experience working within Mission Partner Environment (MPE) frameworks.
Knowledge of incident response processes and cyber defense operations.
Cloud cybersecurity experience.
Experience supporting security inspections, compliance audits, and remediation efforts.
Strong written communication skills, including development of technical reports and white papers. Education
Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines is preferred:
