Job Description

Job Title: Lettings Client Accountant

Location: Hyde Park / Hybrid

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 18:00

Salary: £30,000 - £34,000


Chestertons is looking for a highly motivated Lettings Client Accountant to join our busy Residential Lettings Support team, based in our Hyde Park office.


Reporting to the Head of Client Accounts and Client Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and overseeing a range of lettings client accounting activities. You will ensure all transactions and queries are handled accurately, efficiently and in line with company procedures, while maintaining a high standard of service to landlords, tenants and internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities


  • Raise rent and fee demands on a daily basis
  • Allocate tenant receipts against outstanding demands
  • Process new tenancies accurately and efficiently on the system
  • Process deposit releases
  • Monitor and chase tenant rent arrears
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a dedicated point of contact
  • Liaise with landlords and tenants on a daily basis, maintaining strong relationships and building trust
  • Provide day-to-day support to front-office lettings branches and other departments
  • Apply a good understanding of overseas landlord tax requirements
  • Investigate client and account queries and take appropriate action to resolve them
  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timescales
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Client Accounts team to maintain high standards of service


Skills & Experience


  • Previous experience within client accounting or the property industry is preferred
  • Experience using Reapit (RPS) is desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident dealing with landlords, tenants and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • A positive and collaborative team-player attitude
