Job description

Job Description

Company Description Billings Federal Credit Union is a community-focused, not-for-profit financial cooperative serving members across numerous counties in Montana and Wyoming, as well as their family members. As a member-owned institution, income is reinvested into lower loan rates, competitive savings returns, fair pricing, and ongoing improvements in technology and services. A volunteer Board of Directors, drawn from the membership, helps ensure decisions are guided by member interests rather than outside shareholders. Members can access a full range of financial products and services, competitive rates and low fees, and personal, professional support from staff. Billings Federal Credit Union is federally insured by the NCUA and is an Equal Housing Lender.

Role Description The Marketing & Community Relations Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Billings, MT. This position develops and executes marketing initiatives to promote the credit union's products, services, and community presence, including campaigns for digital, print, and in-branch channels. The specialist conducts market research, tracks campaign performance, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure consistent brand messaging. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and coordinating community events, outreach activities, and partnerships that strengthen member engagement and support membership growth. The role also involves creating marketing content, supporting sales efforts, and providing responsive, member-centered service during outreach and public-facing activities.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills and the ability to represent the credit union professionally in written, verbal, and public settings.
  • Candidates should possess Market Research skills to gather, analyze, and interpret data on members, competitors, and local communities.
  • Candidates should possess Sales skills to support member acquisition, product promotion, and cross-selling in alignment with credit union goals.
  • Candidates should possess Marketing Strategy skills to plan, implement, and evaluate integrated campaigns and community initiatives.
  • Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to deliver positive member experiences and build long-term relationships within the community.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in financial services or credit unions, event planning and community outreach, proficiency with social media and basic design tools, and strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, is required.
