Job Description

Network Protection Technician / Substation Commissioning Technician | Siegen, Germany | Hybrid This employer is a leading player in the European energy infrastructure sector, instrumental in driving the energy transition. They are seeking a skilled technician to contribute to critical substation projects, ensuring the successful integration of renewable energy sources and modernizing energy grids. The Role • Commissioning and testing of protection and control systems in medium, high, and extra-high voltage substations up to 380kV. • Analyzing and resolving faults within protection and control technology to improve system efficiency. • Configuring and parameterizing high-tech protection and field devices from leading manufacturers like Siemens, Schneider, and ABB. • Performing precise commissioning of digital protection and control technology using state-of-the-art testing equipment. • Collaborating effectively with project management, planning, and installation teams to ensure project success. • Actively contributing to renewable energy connection projects, including wind and solar parks. What You'll Need • Completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering. • Proven experience with protection/control technology and commissioning of switchgear. • Familiarity with communication standards such as IEC 60870-5-101/103/104. • Proficiency in parameterization software (e.g., Siemens DIGSI, Schneider MICOM) and testing software (e.g., OMICRON Test Universe) is advantageous. • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a proactive, responsible approach. • Valid driver's license (Class B) and willingness to travel within Western Germany (typically Monday-Thursday).
