Job Description
Required:
• 5+ years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting with PACS/RIS administration.
• Strong knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and IHE standards.
• Good Experience in Intelerad and Divrad
• Familiarity with radiology workflow and modality integration.
• Experience with systems like Visage similar PACS products and Aspen, Medinformatics , SCI , Cadstream , Icad , Hologic
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Responsibilities: The PACS/RIS Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, support, and optimization of the radiology imaging and information systems including PACS, RIS, and associated imaging software. The role acts as a liaison between Radiology, IT, and vendors to ensure seamless operation of digital imaging workflows, high system availability, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities: • Administer, configure, and maintain the PACS and RIS systems for radiology departments. • Provide first- and second-level support for radiology IT systems, troubleshooting technical and workflow issues. • Ensure timely and accurate archiving, retrieval, and distribution of medical images and reports. • Monitor system performance, conduct routine maintenance, and manage backups and disaster recovery plans. • Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, and clinicians to improve workflow efficiency and system usability. • Support integration with other hospital systems such as HIS (Hospital Information System), EMR/EHR, and modality devices (CT, MRI, X-ray). • Manage user accounts, access control, and security protocols in compliance with HIPAA and other data protection regulations. • Document system issues, upgrades, and changes; maintain detailed operational logs. • Participate in PACS/RIS training programs and user education. • Work closely with vendors for system updates, patching, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
