The Role

• Lead in the surveillance, prevention, and control of infections within the hospital setting.
• Promote and maintain high standards of infection prevention and control (IPC) practices to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
• Provide evidence-based IPC clinical advice and support.
• Act as a professional role model, demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of patient care.
• Contribute to clinical expertise in a chosen area (ward, theatre, outpatients, or pre-operative assessment) for the remaining hours.

What You'll Need

• Registered Nurse educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Current NMC registration.
• Teaching and Assessing qualification or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of recent update in infection prevention and control practice.
• Desirable: Infection Prevention and Control Course qualification.
• Essential: Recent experience as a registered nurse in an acute surgical care environment.
• Essential: Previous experience and knowledge of infection prevention and control at ward/departmental level.
