The Role • Operate heavy equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders, side loaders) to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks. • Drive hostlers to precisely position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard. • Stack, move, and organize containers using specialized yard equipment. • Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality. • Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and container movements. • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established protocols and procedures. What You'll Need • A valid driver’s license is mandatory. • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. • Willingness to maintain open availability, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays. • Strong commitment to safety and a keen attention to detail. • Basic communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Ability to climb ladders and stairs on railcars and equipment.
