Senior Application Architect (Modernization & Delivery Enablement) - Perm - Duluth, GA - $100,000 -$130,000
The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Senior Application Architect (Modernization & Delivery Enablement) in Duluth, GA
Role Description
Application Modernization & Architecture
Assess legacy applications, dependencies, architecture patterns, and operational challenges
Recommend modernization strategies including refactor, re-platform, re-host, replace, or retire
Create future-state architecture blueprints
Design transitional architectures that support phased migrations
Partner with Enterprise Architecture to align with long-term technology strategy
Solution Design & Delivery
Translate business requirements into technical solution designs
Produce architecture artifacts including:
Logical and physical diagrams
Sequence diagrams
Deployment diagrams
Integration maps
Support development teams throughout backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery
Ensure performance, scalability, security, and reliability standards are met
API & Event-Driven Architecture
Define API lifecycle standards and governance
Design event-driven architectures and messaging strategies
Evaluate integration platforms and streaming technologies
Establish monitoring, tracing, and observability practices
Architecture Governance
Lead architecture reviews and enforce engineering standards
Drive resiliency, scalability, maintainability, and performance best practices
Prototyping & Technical Evaluation
Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes for modernization initiatives
Evaluate vendor technologies and platforms
Review vendor-delivered designs, code, and documentation
Mentorship & Operational Readiness
Mentor engineers and junior architects
Conduct architecture-focused code reviews
Publish reusable frameworks and reference implementations
Partner with QA, DevOps, and SRE teams on production readiness
Promote continuous improvement and technical excellence
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Master's Degree preferred
10+ years of software engineering and application architecture experience
3-4+ years serving as a Lead Application Architect on large-scale modernization programs
Experience designing complex enterprise applications across multiple technologies
Strong decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
