Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a Sr. VDI Engineer to design, support, and optimize our VMware Horizon virtual desktop environment across on-premises VMware and AWS. You will own day-to-day operations, automate infrastructure using Terraform, and resolve complex end-user and platform issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer VMware Horizon, including Connection Servers, desktop pools, UAG/load balancers, App Volumes, and DEM
  • Automate AWS and VMware infrastructure provisioning with Terraform
  • Troubleshoot issues across compute, storage, network, authentication, and display protocol performance
  • Monitor system health, capacity, and user experience; perform root cause analysis and implement preventive fixes
  • Manage patching and upgrades; maintain runbooks and architecture documentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting production VMware Horizon deployments
  • Strong knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and Aria Automation
  • Proven Terraform experience on both AWS and VMware
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in large-scale environments
  • PowerShell and/or Python scripting
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Horizon Help Desk, Aria Operations, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Solid understanding of virtualization, networking, Active Directory, and storage
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Preferred

  • VCP-DTM or VCP-DCV certification
