The Role

As a Hotel Services Team Member, you’re often the first and last face of a guest’s stay — taking the keys on arrival, delivering in-room dining, and answering the question every guest eventually asks: where should we go tonight? An organised approach and a meticulous eye for detail will carry you through a varied shift.

You’ll move between valet, room service and front office requests, and you’ll be the local guide guests rely on — the match, the gallery opening, the right table in the Valley. Guests arrive at The Alva from everywhere; your role is to give them the city the way a local knows it, through our three service behaviours: Intentional Connections, A Tailored Touch, and Do The Unexpected.

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll join the Hotel Services team, working alongside colleagues who take pride in the details. You’re encouraged to bring your own personality and perspective to every interaction. Reporting to the Manager on Duty, this role is Part Time and requires the flexibility to work a rotating roster (including weekends).

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for people with experience in luxury hotel service or a similarly high-touch, guest-facing industry — or a genuine passion for hospitality and the drive to learn it properly. A service-oriented mindset, the ability to build rapport quickly, and resilience and flexibility across a busy shift are key. Familiarity with OPERA or another hotel PMS is desirable, and knowledge of Brisbane and Fortitude Valley for guest recommendations is highly valued. An open manual driver’s licence and RSA are highly regarded.
