Quick Overview
Job Description
About Mob
Mob is a rapidly growing cooking website + app with one key mission - to make weekly cooking fun, easy and delicious. We solve the common pain point of boring, time-consuming weekday meals by helping users create tasty, healthy dishes with minimal effort.
We are used by over 750,000 people spread across the UK, Australia & US, our ambition is to be the go-to app to optimise your cooking throughout the week.
Our data-driven, creative team collaborates daily to build features and recipes that ladder up to our mission. As a fast-paced start up, our core value is make it happen, succeed together.
What You'll Be Doing
We're looking for an In-App Video Editor to cut the recipe videos that fill our Inspire feed, turning our chefs' recipes into short videos that make people want to cook. This role is essential as we scale our video offering on the app.
You'll be one of the first people to work in our newly built, in-house AI video editing software. It assembles a first cut from raw footage and the recipe, and your job is to turn that into a polished, watchable video, and to tell us how the tool should improve. You'll be shaping a brand-new production workflow, not just using one.
We'll be upfront: this is not a highly creative editing role. Our Inspire feed videos follow a clear, step-by-step recipe format. If you're looking for experimental, social-first creative work, this isn't it. If you want to ship a serious volume of polished videos, get hands-on with genuinely new AI tooling, and gain solid experience at the UK's fastest growing recipe app, read on.
In a typical week you'll be:
Using Mob's newly built video editing software to edit recipe videos for the Inspire feed end to end, from rushes to final cut, ensuring they're up to Mob's standard
Managing your deadlines in Notion, working with our content coordinator on edit turnaround
Delivering a steady volume of recipe videos to deadline without quality slipping
Feeding back on our in-house editing tool, flagging any flaws so the software improves
What we'd expect you to have achieved in your 3 months with us:
Produced a high volume of videos for the Inspire feed that are performing against our save and cook targets
Become fluent in our in-house tooling and helped shape what it looks like moving forward
Platforms & Tools Expertise
Mob's in-house video editing software; Premiere Pro.
What You’ll Bring
You're early in your editing career but already fast and precise, with a real feel for short-form. You care about food, you notice when a cut lands, and you'd rather learn a new tool than complain about it.
What we're looking for
1+ years editing short-form video (in-house, agency or freelance), with a reel we can watch
Fluent in at least one professional edit suite (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut or similar) and demonstrably quick to pick up unfamiliar software
Comfortable with a high-volume, repeating weekly delivery schedule
Attention to detail
Process driven
Comfortable experimenting with new tools
AI savvy
It's a Bonus If You Have
Experience with food or recipe content
You'll thrive in this role if you…
Want to gain experience editing videos for the UK's fastest growing recipe app
Communicate issues early and clearly
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
Don't wait to be told what to do; ask questions, find answers and make things happen
