Job description

Senior RF Design Engineer, Mixed-Signal Embedded Hardware

Huntsville, AL (Onsite, minimal travel)

Design complete RF and mixed-signal signal chains for next-generation RFSoC and FMC products used in radar, electronic warfare, and communications systems. You will own the design from architecture through schematic, PCB, debug, and production at a leader in rugged embedded computing. Pay is $110K to $160K, and relocation is available.

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor's in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proven design of complete RF and mixed-signal signal chains: RF front ends, filtering, ADC/DAC interfaces, clocking, and low-noise power
  • RF circuit design up to 18 GHz
  • Experience selecting and integrating high-speed ADCs and DACs from TI, Analog Devices, or similar
  • Understanding of converter-to-FPGA digital interfaces
  • Programmable clock generation and distribution design
  • Strong RF theory: filter design, impedance matching, signal integrity, grounding, and shielding
  • Hands-on lab work with spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and scopes
  • U.S. citizen or green card holder

What You'll Do

  • Architect RF signal paths, analog front ends, and filter networks
  • Select and integrate high-speed ADCs and DACs with FPGA processing
  • Design software-configurable clocking and low-noise power architectures
  • Capture designs in schematic and PCB tools, and partner with layout on impedance, grounding, and isolation
  • Debug, validate, and release hardware to production
  • Collaborate with FPGA, embedded software, and systems engineers

Nice-to-Haves

  • AMD Xilinx RFSoC design experience
  • Multi-board synchronization, timing distribution, and phase alignment
  • RF design up to 30 GHz
  • Mentor Xpedition DxDesigner
  • Multilayer PCBs with microvias and low-loss RF materials
  • Defense, radar, EW, or embedded computing background

What You'll Get

  • $110,000 to $160,000 base salary, depending on experience
  • Annual performance incentives
  • Medical, dental, and vision; 401(k) with company contribution
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Relocation assistance
  • Technical training and long-term career growth
