Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Data Architect will lead large-scale data architecture, data modeling, data engineering, and migration initiatives, with strong preference for experience in Pension/Retirement, Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare environments. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, legacy-to-modern platform migration, SQL, relational databases, data quality, remediation, reconciliation, and stakeholder management.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise data architecture and design across conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

  • Drive complex legacy-to-modern platform migrations involving multiple source systems, dependencies, sequencing, and cutover strategy.

  • Perform source data analysis, profiling, dependency analysis, source-to-target mapping, transformation rules, ETL architecture, data lineage, and migration design.

  • Translate business rules into technical transformation logic and scalable data solutions.

  • Oversee data quality, remediation, cleansing, reconciliation, and validation of records, balances, relationships, and business attributes.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Architects, SMEs, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, ETL Developers, and QA teams.

  • Provide oversight to offshore teams and support backlog refinement, walkthroughs, and implementation activities.

  • Recognize and address source data issues as a critical part of successful migration.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Engineering, and large-scale data migration.

  • Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases.

  • Strong experience with data quality, remediation, cleansing, reconciliation, and validation.

  • Ability to convert complex business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Excellent architecture and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience managing distributed or offshore delivery teams.

 

Preferred Domain Experience

Experience in pension or retirement-related data domains is highly desirable, including participants, beneficiaries, employment, earnings, pension credits, benefits, payments, and related-party relationships.

 

Deliverables

  • Process flows.

  • Mentor and provide knowledge transfer to client project team members.

  • Participate as a primary, co-, or contributing author on project deliverables.

  • Participate in data conversion and data maintenance.

  • Provide best practices and industry-specific solutions.

  • Advise on alternative and out-of-the-box solutions.

  • Provide thought leadership and hands-on technical configuration/development as needed.

  • Participate as a functional team member.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
