Oracle Database Administrator Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI (Ability to Obtain CI Polygraph)
Location: Arlington, VA (100% On-Site)
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary Range: $87,100 - $152,450 Position Overview SDA Solutions is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support a mission-critical Department of Defense program in Arlington, Virginia. This position is responsible for administering, optimizing, and maintaining highly available Oracle database environments supporting enterprise applications within a secure, classified infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a motivated database professional with experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle database environments while ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability. Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and support Oracle database environments supporting mission-critical applications.
Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, structures, and objects based on system requirements.
Perform daily database administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
Monitor database performance, memory utilization, and overall system health using standard database administration tools.
Identify and resolve database performance issues through SQL optimization and performance tuning.
Develop, modify, and maintain SQL scripts, PL/SQL procedures, stored procedures, and database automation scripts.
Create ad hoc queries, reports, and data extracts to support operational and business requirements.
Implement and maintain database security, user permissions, and access controls in accordance with security policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve database availability, replication, and performance issues.
Plan for database growth, storage requirements, and long-term capacity planning.
Collaborate with software developers to optimize database design, SQL queries, and application performance.
Develop and maintain database documentation, operational procedures, standards, and technical guides.
Support database integration, validation, testing, and production deployments.
Maintain data integrity, maximize system availability, and participate in on-call support as required.
Work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering, infrastructure, and development teams.
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph.
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 8 or more years of relevant experience. Additional education, training, or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum five (5) years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
Minimum five (5) years of experience administering Oracle Database 12c, 19c, or later.
Experience implementing and maintaining Oracle database security.
Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning Oracle database performance.
Experience diagnosing and resolving database-related issues in enterprise environments.
Strong experience developing and optimizing PL/SQL procedures, packages, and scripts.
Experience writing SQL queries for both operational support and reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders.
Required Certification Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification. Acceptable certifications include: Security+ CE
CySA+
CCNA Security
GSEC
SSCP
CND
GICSP
Equivalent DoD-approved IAT Level II certification
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DISA or other Department of Defense enterprise environments.
Experience with Oracle Data Guard, including configuration, monitoring, failover, and switchover.
Experience performing SQL performance tuning utilizing AWR, ADDM, and other Oracle diagnostic tools.
Experience working within Agile or SAFe software development environments.
Experience with Oracle database design and development.
Experience supporting PostgreSQL or other relational and NoSQL database platforms.
Experience developing with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
