We are seeking an experienced Mobile Mechanic to join our team. This position offers a combination of shop-based maintenance and mobile field repairs, providing the opportunity to work both independently and alongside our operations teams. The Mobile Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of diesel and gas-powered vehicles and landscaping equipment to keep our fleet running safely and efficiently.

This position includes a company-provided take-home service truck to travel between the shop and job sites to perform repairs as needed. The ideal candidate is a dependable, self-motivated mechanic who can troubleshoot issues in both shop and field environments while minimizing equipment downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced maintenance and repairs on diesel and gas-powered vehicles, trucks, trailers, and landscaping equipment.

  • Work in the maintenance shop while also traveling to job sites to diagnose and perform on-site repairs as needed.

  • Utilize a company-provided take-home service truck to respond to mechanical issues and complete field repairs throughout the assigned region.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues involving engines, fuel systems, transmissions, brake systems, wheel bearings, undercarriages, and engine performance.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field, providing timely repairs to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled servicing to extend the lifespan of vehicles and equipment.

  • Determine whether equipment can be repaired on-site or needs to be transported to the shop for more extensive repairs.

  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies in both the maintenance shop and assigned service truck.

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities in accordance with company policies.

  • Complete service work orders through Aspire, ensuring all tasks are properly documented, tracked, and closed out.

  • Follow all safety protocols while performing repairs in the shop, on the road, and at active job sites.

  • Coordinate with branch managers and field teams to prioritize repairs and return equipment to service in a timely manner.

  • Perform emergency repairs and respond to unexpected equipment issues as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience as a diesel and gas mechanic, preferably with fleet maintenance or mobile mechanic experience.

  • Experience performing both shop-based maintenance and field service repairs preferred.

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with engines, fuel systems, transmissions, brake systems, wheel bearings, undercarriages, and engine performance.

  • Experience maintaining and repairing commercial landscaping equipment, trucks, trailers, and small engines is a plus.

  • Ability to independently diagnose mechanical issues and determine effective repair solutions in the field.

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple repair priorities.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

  • Valid driver's license required, with the ability to safely operate a company-provided service truck.

  • Willingness to travel between the shop and various job sites throughout the assigned service area.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Enjoy competitive pay that recognizes your skills and experience.

  • Take-Home Service Truck: Company-provided service truck for work-related travel between the shop and field locations.

  • Guaranteed Hours: Benefit from guaranteed hours with the potential for overtime.

  • Weekly Pay: Experience the convenience of weekly pay on Fridays.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Access health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a matching 401(k) plan.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned region to perform field repairs.

  • Ability to work in both indoor shop environments and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, parts, and equipment required for maintenance and repairs.
