Job Description

Position at Morgan's Funeral Home

Help Princeton Families Plan Ahead, One Conversation at a Time

You already do the hardest part of this work: helping people understand something they'd rather not think about. You explain it patiently, make it feel manageable, and leave them more confident than you found them.

At Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton, KY, that skill is the whole job. As a Family Service Advisor, you'll sit down one-on-one with local families and guide them through planning ahead, on their timeline and in a calm, unhurried setting. It's education and guidance, and we'll teach you the planning side.

What You'll Do (and Why You'll Love Doing It)

Guide one family at a time

  • You'll explain options, answer questions, check for understanding, and help each family reach decisions they feel good about. The relationship is one-on-one, and families remember the person who helped them. It's the part of this role that all advisors appreciate: time to really connect and make an impact on a families’ life.

Teach your community

  • About once a month, you'll take part in a community education event that helps neighbors learn about planning ahead. If you've led a classroom, a workshop, or a program, you'll be in your element!

Put your skills to purposeful work

  • Patience, clear explanations, reading a room, and staying steady through emotional moments are exactly what this work asks for. You'll learn the planning details through training and coaching from Precoa's field management, with Morgan's team beside you as you find your footing. You won't be starting from zero.

Hopeful, not heavy with a schedule you can count on

  • Planning ahead happens before there is loss. Families come to these conversations with time to think and questions to ask, and they leave with peace of mind. Your work is forward-looking and helpful.
  • You'll work full-time at Morgan's, with an occasional Saturday when a family prefers to meet then and about one day a month for community events. Outside of that, your evenings and weekends are yours - paid vacation and sick days are built in!

Ready to be the trusted face that families in Caldwell County turn to?

If you have these skills, we want to talk with you!

  • Background in teaching, higher education, sales, academic coordination, instructional design, or a similar education role (hospitality, customer service, and community or social services backgrounds are welcome too!)
  • A patient, warm presence and a gift for explaining things clearly
  • Comfort meeting with families in person with empathy and professionalism
  • Availability for full-time hours at the funeral home, with occasional Saturdays and about one evening a month
  • Current life insurance license, or willingness to obtain one
  • Training pay during onboarding, then base salary plus commission
  • Approximate total gross earnings of $50,000 to $65,000 annually, performance-based and a starting point, not a ceiling
  • Two weeks of paid vacation and four paid sick days
  • 401(k) with company match after 12 months of employment
  • World-class training, coaching, and mentorship from Precoa's field management
  • Community education programs, pre-qualified scheduling and local marketing resources provided at no cost
  • Consistent regional and nationwide incentive programs, including qualification for Precoa Escapes, a trip of a lifetime

About Morgan's Funeral Home

Morgan's Funeral Home has served Princeton families since 1906, when Robert Morgan founded Princeton Furniture and Undertaking Company. In 1937, he built the first funeral home in Caldwell County, and the Morgan family cared for this community for 110 years.

Today, Brian and Jenna Wainer carry that tradition forward at Morgan's in Princeton and at sister location Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville, serving families across Caldwell, Lyon, and surrounding counties. Jenna is the seventh generation of her family in funeral service. The team is known for personal, unhurried care, and for showing up for the community through events like the annual Holiday Service of Remembrance.

Morgan's partners with Precoa, a national leader in preneed planning, to help more families put thoughtful plans in place before they're needed.
