Job Description

Location & Work Mode: Hybrid, on site Tuesday through Thursday in San Diego, CAContract Duration: Approximately 14 months estimated through December 31, 2027.Compensation Range: $75.00 - $93.00/hour (commensurate with experience)Cella is seeking a Senior Staff Product Marketing Manager for an opportunity with a global leader in the healthcare and life sciences industry. This unique role bridges high-level strategic product marketing leadership with hands-on content execution across a sophisticated portfolio. The position offers the opportunity to drive end-to-end content strategy and marketing governance across global markets while translating complex scientific concepts into compelling customer-centered narratives.

Responsibilities:Content Strategy & Execution: Lead the strategy, development, and ongoing evolution of customer-facing marketing content across products, applications, workflows, and portfolio-level solutions.

Asset Creation: Create and update core marketing materials, including web content, application and technical documentation, campaign assets, sales enablement tools, presentations, and training materials.

Content Audit & Optimization: Assess existing collateral for accuracy, relevance, consistency, and alignment with current product positioning, messaging, intended use, and regional specifications.

Prioritization: Determine content priorities using business impact metrics, customer requirements, product lifecycle stages, commercial readiness, usage data, and risk-based inputs.

Messaging & Narrative Development: Translate technical, scientific, and complex product information into clear, differentiated narratives tailored to multiple audiences across all stages of the buying journey.

Standards & Frameworks: Establish messaging frameworks and content standards that ensure consistency across global channels while enabling appropriate regional adaptation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with subject matter experts, Product Management, Commercial, Customer Marketing, Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, and regional teams to efficiently develop, review, approve, publish, and maintain collateral.

Governance & Lifecycle Management: Establish scalable content governance practices, including clear ownership, versioning workflows, review cadences, lifecycle management, and source-of-truth documentation.

Program Leadership: Manage complex, cross-functional content programs from initial scoping through final delivery, balancing strategic priorities with executional details and evolving timelines.

Performance Monitoring: Track content performance and evaluate field feedback to continuously optimize discoverability, usability, adoption, and overall commercial impact.

Strategic Advisory: Provide recommendations to senior marketing leadership regarding content gaps, investment priorities, operating models, and opportunities for asset simplification or reuse.

Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree (M.S., MBA, or Ph. D.) in life sciences, business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.

Industry Experience: 12 to 25 years of progressive experience in product marketing, portfolio marketing, content strategy, marketing communications, or product management within the life sciences sector.

Domain Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of genomics, next-generation sequencing, molecular biology, clinical workflows, or adjacent life sciences technology domains.

Program & Global Scale Experience: Demonstrated success developing complex, technical, customer-facing content and driving cross-functional marketing initiatives within global matrixed organizations.

Regulatory & Process Literacy: Experience navigating structured review and approval processes while adhering to regulatory, legal, brand, and regional compliance standards.

Communication Skills: Proven expertise in writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation, with the ability to simplify technical complexity without sacrificing scientific accuracy.

Operational Attributes: Independent, driven, highly analytical, and detail-oriented, with demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio of deliverables, maintain confidentiality, and make data-driven decisions in dynamic environments.
