Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to shape how safety is led across a complex, evolving business and to make a meaningful impact on people, culture and outcomes.

About the role

As Zinfra's Group Health, Safety & Environment Manager, you partner with a complex, geographically dispersed, high-risk operational business to drive consistent and meaningful safety outcomes.

Drawing on deep experience in building capable and trusted HSE Business Partnering teams, you translate enterprise HSE strategy into practical, operational delivery. Partnering with the Zinfra Leadership Team and operational leaders, you support embedment of a line-led safety culture-where the business owns risk and HSE acts as an enabler and trusted advisor to design and execute safe work.

This role requires the ability to influence at a senior level, navigate complexity and bring people together across diverse contracts, stakeholders and operating environments.

Culture & Benefits

What we do matters. Delivering safe and reliable energy makes a difference to people's lives across our country every single day. We are proud to keep Australia connected while preparing the nation for a renewable future.

Our people are our energy source. We offer meaningful benefits and rewards, including being a certified family friendly workplace designed to see you succeed in all areas of life:

  • Relocation support package to help you settle in
  • Supportive team environment with a strong depot and social culture
  • Giving Back Program - receive grants to support charities you actively volunteer with
  • Access to universal reproductive health leave
  • Help drive Australia's net zero future by delivering critical infrastructure projects that shape the energy and utilities industry
About You

You are recognised as a leader who actively listens and can think and operate at enterprise scale. You have a track record driving outcomes in complex, high risk environments through influence, alignment and operational leadership buy in.

You're comfortable in a dynamic, transforming industry, partnering with and influencing senior leaders through credibility and sound judgement. You translate complex concepts into practical outcomes and build strong, trusted and inclusive relationships across all levels of the organisation.

You lead and develop teams in a way that fosters trust, brings people with you, and delivers consistent, high quality outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience leading HSE uplift within large, complex, multi site operational businesses - shifting culture and performance, not just implementing frameworks
  • Proven ability to influence senior operational leaders, embedding a line led safety model, supported by a HSE partnering team.
  • Experience leading and developing large, geographically dispersed HSE teams, driving alignment, capability uplift and outcomes across diverse contracts and environments
  • Deep capability across risk management, assurance, and regulatory frameworks, with a track record of translating these into practical, operational outcomes
  • Strong commercial and operational acumen, with experience operating in utilities, infrastructure, construction or similarly complex, asset intensive environments

We champion and value diversity in life and work experiences, as we know everyone benefits from broader diversity of thoughts in our problem solving, decision making and ability to innovate. We encourage applications from everyone, including First Nations people, veterans, people living with a disability and members of the LGBTIQA+ community. If you need adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know.
