It is recruiting electrical engineers at every level, from intermediate up to technical director, because the workload is scaling and the firm would rather build a strong permanent team than rent a temporary one. Whatever level you join at, the work is live, funded and already in the pipeline rather than speculative.

The usual complaint in this sector is fragmentation. You spend two years on one part of one system on one site, and your CV calls it experience while your engineering knowledge quietly narrows. The structure here keeps engineers across whole schemes, so what you learn compounds year on year. At the top end, the technical director position carries real authority over how the electrical side of the business runs, which is rarer than the job adverts in this sector suggest.

London is the preferred base, but strong mission critical engineers elsewhere in the UK will be considered, so distance alone should not stop you applying. If the projects are right, the geography can usually be worked out.

Salary is between 45,000 and 140,000, depending on level.
