Plenful is hiring a Staff Frontend UX Platform Engineer to shape the foundations of our product experience. You’ll build the shared tools, patterns, and architecture that help product teams deliver consistent, accessible, and performant interfaces. This is a hands-on staff role for someone who can set technical direction, solve complex problems, and make other engineers more effective.

What you’ll do

• Lead the architecture and evolution of our frontend UX platform, including shared components, design system foundations, and developer tooling.

• Build product experiences and reusable infrastructure with TypeScript, and React.

• Work across the stack with Python and FastAPI to design and integrate APIs that support excellent user experiences.

• Establish practical standards for accessibility, performance, testing, and frontend maintainability.

• Partner with design, product, and engineering teams to turn complex workflows into intuitive interfaces.

• Mentor engineers, review technical designs, and drive improvements across teams.

What you’ll bring

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial experience building frontend applications at scale.

• Strong, hands-on knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React,

• A track record of leading frontend architecture or platform work across multiple teams.

• Sound judgment about when to create shared abstractions and how to keep them useful as a product grows.

• Experience collaborating closely with designers and product partners on user-facing work.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to lead through both code and technical guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Python and FastAPI.

• Experience working at a health-tech startup

• Familiarity with FHIR, HL7

Location: Candidates must be based in the San Francisco or Seattle area. The San Francisco role requires working in the office two days per week.
