Information System Security Officer (ISSO) with Security Clearance

Job #: 3035444 Apex Systems is currently hiring for an Information System Security Officer with a leading federal government consulting client supporting critical disaster response and recovery operations. This role supports mission-critical systems that ensure the security and integrity of data used to assist communities before, during, and after emergencies. Project Details / Mission Supported: • Support a federal emergency management agency in strengthening cybersecurity posture across enterprise systems

• Ensure compliance with federal security standards (FISMA/NIST) for systems supporting disaster preparedness and response
• Partner with engineering and security teams to maintain secure system operations throughout the RMF lifecycle Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:
• 7+ years of experience in information security, including system security authorization and compliance
• 3+ years of experience supporting FISMA compliance and federal security frameworks
• Experience supporting systems through the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle, including ATO package development
• Hands-on experience with security documentation such as POA&Ms, SSPs, and security assessment reports
• Experience using tools such as Xacta IA Manager and/or CSAM
• Strong understanding of NIST standards, SELC processes, and federal information security requirements
• Relevant cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent IAT/IAM certification Location: Washington DC
