Lead Backend Engineer – PHP / Adobe Commerce (Magento 2)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and extend Magento 2 modules, APIs, GraphQL resolvers, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message-queue consumers.
• Build REST/GraphQL APIs and service layers for Magento and external systems.
• Integrate with PIM, ERP, OMS, catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, and customer/identity platforms.
• Implement event-driven architecture using RabbitMQ or similar messaging platforms.
• Work with AWS/cloud-native services, caching, databases, queues, and observability tools.
• Optimize Magento performance for high-volume catalog and order workloads.
• Build middleware/adapters to support phased commerce migrations.
• Perform automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, debugging, and production support.
• Act as a hands-on technical lead, mentor engineers, and partner with Architects on technical decisions.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong PHP + Adobe Commerce/Magento 2 expertise.
• Magento APIs, GraphQL, REST, modules, plugins, observers, cron, and MQ consumers.
• RabbitMQ / event-driven architecture.
• AWS/cloud-native technologies.
• Caching, databases, observability, and distributed systems.
• Magento performance tuning and scalability.
• Automated testing, CI/CD, Git, debugging, and production support.
• Strong technical leadership and mentoring experience.
