Fire Alarm Service Engineer, Company Vehicle and Paid Overtime

Location of works: Swindon

Salary Bracket: Up to £45,000 per annum

Our client is an accredited fire and electrical services provider working across the domestic and social housing sector. They're looking to add a permanent Fire Alarm Service Engineer to their team, covering the Swindon area. Demand for engineers confident across both conventional and addressable systems remains strong in this part of the sector, and this employer backs that with a structured pay package built around overtime and call-out work.

Salary and Benefits – Fire Alarm Service Engineer

  • Basic Salary up to £45,000 basic
  • Standby payment of £140 per week
  • Company vehicle provided with personal use
  • Overtime paid at time and a half
  • 22 days annual holiday plus bank holidays
  • £60 call-out payment per job
  • 11 hours rest guaranteed after a call-out
  • Travel time paid after the first 30 minutes each way

Key Responsibilities – Fire Alarm Service Engineer

  • Operate safely and professionally within domestic and social housing settings
  • Carry out servicing and maintenance on both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
  • Service and maintain emergency lighting systems
  • Maintain fire extinguishers as part of a wider fire safety service

Skills and experience – Fire Alarm Service Engineer:

  • Full UK driving licence, clean licence preferred
  • At least 3 years' hands-on experience with conventional and addressable fire alarm systems
  • Solid understanding of BS5839-1 fire alarm standards
  • Background in social housing environments an advantage
  • FIA training or qualifications desirable though not essential
