Distributed Systems Engineer

Leidos seeks a Systems Engineer to support Geographically Separated Units, designing, integrating, and sustaining secure, distributed IT environments for mission-critical government customers. You will architect end-to-end solutions across networks, servers, and applications; implement cybersecurity controls; and ensure high availability and performance for remote sites. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, system design, deployment, documentation, and troubleshooting complex incidents. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior staff, and drive continuous improvement while working in a culture that values integrity, innovation, and learning.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end systems architectures for geographically separated units.
• Integrate servers, networks, storage, and applications into secure, resilient solutions.
• Apply cybersecurity and compliance standards to harden systems and protect mission data.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot complex issues across distributed environments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and configuration baselines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network, security, and program staff.
• Support testing, validation, and deployment of new capabilities and upgrades.
• Automate routine tasks and configuration management where possible.
• Provide on-call or after-hours support for critical incidents as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and mentor junior team members.
