The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Outpatient Services Manager to join our team at St George Hospital and play a key role in enhancing the delivery of outpatient care.

You will be based in the brand-new Kensington Street Building (KSB), located in Kogarah. As an Outpatient Services Manager, you will be responsible for leading administrative teams and overseeing the use of critical digital systems that support outpatient operations. This includes managing electronic referral and data workflows, the Patient Queue Management System (PQMS), transcription services, electronic medical record (eMR) scheduling, and revenue-generating billing functions. You will also provide training and support to staff, ensure performance reporting requirements are met, and represent outpatient services at relevant hospital governance committees.

We are looking for an individual with strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, experience in outpatient clinics and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in dynamic environment and are passionate about driving operational excellence through digital innovation.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in management or relevant equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS software applications and working knowledge of the non-admitted patient facing services and revenue collection systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in performing a range of management and administrative tasks within allocated timeframe.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and influencing skills with a strong customer service focus with the ability to prepare briefing and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt work practices to meet current and emerging business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine priorities for others and delegate tasks to achieve work objectives.
