Senior Technical Writer | Kensington, MD, United States | Hybrid | $78,900 - $123,300/Yr

The Role

  • Research, develop, and produce high-quality technical documentation, guidance materials, and reports related to aviation systems, policies, and operational concepts.
  • Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, accurate, and accessible content for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and program staff to gather and verify technical information.
  • Draft, revise, and edit manuals, specifications, reports, and presentation materials, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Apply expertise in aviation terminology and operations to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory alignment.
  • Manage multiple documentation projects concurrently, maintaining attention to detail and adherence to schedules.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field, with 5+ years of technical writing/editing experience; or High School diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience producing or editing aviation regulatory documentation or related technical publications in aviation or aerospace.
  • Proven ability to interpret and synthesize complex technical data into clear and concise documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing content for federal aviation programs.
  • Strong command of grammar, style, and technical writing conventions, with familiarity with government style guides.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and documentation/content management tools.
