Job description



A Virginia-based financial services firm is seeking a Data Scientist for a hybrid contract role in Vienna. This position focuses on digital analytics, customer behavior, and Voice of the Customer insights to help inform product, experience, and business decisions.


About the Opportunity:




  • Schedule: Monday to Friday




  • Hours: Standard business




  • Setting: Hybrid (At least 3 days a week onsite)




Responsibilities:




  • Analyze digital customer behavior to identify patterns in engagement, adoption, and experience.




  • Perform exploratory and statistical analysis to evaluate digital experiences and support data-driven decisions.




  • Partner with product, technology, and business stakeholders to translate questions into analytical solutions.




  • Develop, automate, and maintain analytical solutions that deliver actionable business insights.




  • Apply NLP, text analytics, and AI-assisted techniques to summarize feedback, identify sentiment, and surface friction points.




Qualifications:




  • 1 to 5 years of experience in data science, business intelligence, analytics, statistical analysis, or a related field.




  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.




  • Proficiency with SQL for data extraction and analysis.




  • Proficiency with Python for data preparation, exploratory analysis, statistical analysis, and modeling.




  • Experience applying analytical and statistical methods such as EDA, hypothesis testing, regression, forecasting, segmentation, clustering, experimentation, NLP, or sentiment analysis.




  • Experience translating analytical findings into actionable insights, recommendations, or measurable business outcomes.




  • Comfortable working in notebook-based analytical environments.




  • Strong curiosity and ability to learn new analytical methods and technologies quickly.




  • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills.




Desired Skills:




  • Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.




  • Experience analyzing customer behavior, digital products, customer feedback, or customer experience.




  • Experience presenting complex analytical findings to executive audiences.




  • Knowledge of financial services or digital banking products.




  • Advanced SQL and Python skills.
