Algorithm Software Engineer | Cardiff By The Sea, CA, United States | Hybrid | $107,900.00 - $195,050.00

We are hiring for a leading defense contractor that is at the forefront of protecting national security through advanced electronic warfare solutions. This organization is known for its innovation in research and development, transforming cutting-edge algorithms into real-time systems for demanding defense applications. They foster a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment focused on rapid prototyping and near-term field demonstrations.

The Role

  • Contribute to the design and development of advanced electronic warfare systems within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Design, implement, and test C applications in a real-time embedded environment.
  • Analyze signal processing algorithms and port them from environments like MATLAB or Python to optimized C code.
  • Optimize C code for Digital Signal Processing (DSP) applications, leveraging parallel processing and hardware accelerators to meet extreme real-time requirements.
  • Develop Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) tests to validate algorithm performance.
  • Communicate technical details clearly to diverse engineering teams and support system field testing.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 8+ years of software development experience, with strong C/C++ skills for embedded systems.
  • Solid understanding of linear algebra, probability, and basic signal processing concepts.
  • Familiarity with hardware-software interaction and basic computer architecture.
  • Experience with MATLAB for signal processing algorithm development.
  • Proficiency with build tools (e.g., GCC, CMake) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Must possess an active Secret level security clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
