Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join an established engineering organisation developing complex systems for highly regulated applications.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary engineering team, developing and maintaining real-time embedded software while supporting system integration, commissioning and customer-facing technical activities.

Key Responsibilities Develop software from requirements and design through to coding, integration and testing.<br />Develop and maintain C/C++ real-time embedded software.<br />Work closely with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineers.<br />Maintain software requirements, technical issues and documentation.<br />Develop robust software with a focus on fault management, reporting and system health.<br />Support customer integration, commissioning and problem resolution.<br />Contribute to system requirements, technical decisions and project planning.<br />Identify and manage technical risks and provide input to project reviews.

Skills &amp; Experience Essential:

Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.<br />Strong experience developing C/C++ real-time embedded software.<br />Good understanding of embedded hardware.<br />Experience developing user interfaces.<br />Strong technical problem-solving skills.<br />Experience maintaining and enhancing existing software.<br />Experience with RS-232, RS-422, UART, TCP/IP and UDP.Desirable:

VxWorks or another RTOS.<br />C#/.NET and Windows application development.<br />Git or SVN.<br />Jira and Confluence.<br />Unit testing and static code analysis.
