Blackwave designs, manufactures and ships flight-qualified, commercial off-the-shelf composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs) for launch vehicles and satellites. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, the company delivers COPVs from a standardized portfolio with flight heritage. The approach reduces lead time from months to days while ensuring that each tank is qualified and flight-ready. Blackwave's mission is to end COPV failure in spaceflight. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

THE WHY
To end COPV failure in spaceflight. As we grow, production becomes more complex — with multiple teams, machines, technologies, and locations. Your mission is to keep all these moving parts aligned and ensure that our production output is achieved every day.

THE WHAT
You are the daily connection between planning and execution. You coordinate production teams, translate capacity and production needs into realistic plans, and react quickly when priorities, capacities, or timelines change.

You ensure:

  • Production plans reflect real machine and personnel capacity
  • Production targets are achieved through effective daily coordination
  • Changes and disruptions are addressed with appropriate countermeasures
  • Production bottlenecks are identified early and resolved together with the relevant teams
  • Production, logistics, engineering, quality, and management stay aligned

You don't just plan production. You make the plan become reality.

Coordinate daily production: Align multiple manufacturing teams and ensure that production targets are achieved. → High Performance: Keep the shop floor moving.

Build realistic production plans: Translate available machine and personnel capacity into achievable plans and identify upcoming capacity increases early. → Accountability: Plan realistically. Deliver reliably.

React to changes: Identify deviations, delays, and capacity constraints and develop appropriate countermeasures together with the relevant teams. →Candor: Surface problems early and act on them.

Resolve bottlenecks: Work closely with Logistics to systematically identify and eliminate supply and material bottlenecks. → Togetherness: Production succeeds when teams work as one.

Improve production performance: Work closely with Process Engineering to identify weaknesses through recurring quality issues and increased reject rates and drive improvements. → Playfulness: Stay curious. Find better ways to work.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Experience in production planning, production control, manufacturing, operations, or a comparable environment
  • Strong understanding of how individual production steps influence the overall production output
  • Experience coordinating multiple teams or production activities on the shop floor
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to align Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, PJM, and Management
  • Structured, solution-oriented, and able to remain effective when priorities and conditions change
  • Comfortable working as the central interface between planning and execution
  • Strong ownership and the ability to identify problems and drive solutions independently
  • German (C1 minimum) and English (B2 minimum)
  • Willingness to work 95% on-site across our Garching and Taufkirchen locations

Nice to have:

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or another complex manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of metal processing and/or fiber composite manufacturing.
  • Experience with production planning or project management.
  • Experience working in environments with multiple manufacturing technologies or facilities. xnbtkat
